I took my kids grocery shopping today, which is always a crazy experience. I avoid going for as long as I possible can and then when we run out of milk I load every body up for a trip to the grocery store.
So today was one of those days, we ran out of milk on Sat. and my boys thought that we were going to die yesterday without it.
As I was trying to keep my boys under control and out of other peoples way, a lady passed and asked " Are all these yours?"
I turned around and looked to see who all these kids were that she was talking about, wondering if we were holding up others with kids, and only saw mine. As I acknowledged that they were all mine, she said "Oh, bless you!'
Did I look like I needed blessings? I did not know how to react to this, so I herded my kids on without saying anything.
Is 4 kids in the "Are all these kids yours?" category? And what do you say to comments like these? I must admit that I was quite taken back by this comment.

I made cinnamon rolls today for our FHE treats and the last couple of times I have made them they have turned out like these. They are hollow around all the swirls. Why do they do this? What did I do wrong?

I don't know the answer to either of your questions.
I'm not sure about the answer to the cinnamon role thing, but they look yummy to me-hollows and all! As far as the blessing, I say a blessing on all mothers who choose to have more than the usual one or two that is the average of the world today. Especially if the choice for more children is because you want them and not because they are the means for a bigger handout from the government.(Sorry, getting on the soapbox a bit there.) Well, I think I'm off to make some cinnamon rolls!
I had a lady say that to me at the shoe store last week. And I only had the oldest 3! I just smiled and said yes. I think people are used to seeing one or two small kids, more than that and they start counting. It is nice to know I'm not alone on this one!
I have never had a comment like that before, since I only have two right now. But sometimes when Mim and I go places together (we have a combined total of 5) we get crazy looks, especially since they are all about the same age.
I usually get the comment, when are you going to have more kids? Then I want to come up with a crazy story like about how I can't get pregnant(even though that is not the truth) just to get people to leave me alone. I just think people should keep their opinions to themselves!
As for the cinnamon rolls, not sure but they look soooo good.
I get comments all the time. Either "God Bless you" or else it is the "your nuts" look. Once it was a nice lady that stopped me to tell me how watching me reminded her of when her 4 kids were little and how much that made her miss days gone by.
As for the cinnamon rolls, how long did you let them rise?
I get that once in a while. "Wow, how do you do it?" Or "How do you find the time and money?" I still haven't found the best reply. Probably because my thoughts aren't the nicest and I decide not to say them out loud. :o)
As for the rolls. This happens to me now and then too. I'm not sure why, but I have two theories (and as far as I know, they could both be worthless).
#1 - I've rolled out the dough too thin.
#2 - I haven't rolled them up tight enough.
No matter what the problem is, I just slather them with yummy icing. No one will complain about that.
Now I'm thinking I might have to mix some up today.
I am suprised by a comment like that in Utah, You do live in Utah right? I had someone say that to me while we were in San Fran. She also thought I "looked great"for having 3, we had not adopted Mercedes yet, children. Obviously she has NEVER been to Utah. World of Super Model Mom's with 6 kids. I am def not one of those!! :D
