T- Ball

Devin and Hayden played T-ball again this summer. It is something that the boys love to do. We got started in Ohio and had great teams and coaches, and learned so much about the game, so when we moved out here they we excited to play again. We warned the boys that it would be a little different. Little did we know how different. Because Devin is only going into 1st grade this year he had to play on the t-ball team again. Here there was absolutely no organization. After we got over that fact, that it was just a crazy game and the kids went going to learn anything it was ok. The boys had a good time meeting new kids and just having somebody to play with. All the kids received trophies for playing. My boys were thrilled to have another trophy to add to their collection.

What Tanner did every game, most of the time he had a couple of little girls chasing him around the playground.
Ellie enjoying the game, with her dad.

City Days

Our little city had it's celebration this weekend. It is always the weekend of the 24th of July, so I am told. It has been many years since we have had a chance to be apart of the pioneer celebration. It was a fun day. We started out with an All-Star T-ball game. It was for only the older kids so only Devin got to play. It was his last game. Next year he will be on coach pitch, he is so ready for that. He played great and had a fun time. Next year will be Haydens turn. After the game the boys played on the blow up toys. There was plenty for them to do.In the afternoon, there was a Magic Cowboy show. Hayden got called up on stage to help. The cowboy gave him a bell and asked him to ring it. It didn't mater how hard he tried the bell would not ring. We had a great time with that.

Then we stayed for the Peter Brinholt concert. How fun!

Lastly we went home and watched the fireworks from out front porch. It was a great view and we didn't have all the noise. Best part we did not have to fight traffic on the way home.

Devin's B-day

We had a great time for Devin's birthday. We spread our celebration out over a couple of days. On Thursday we got to go swimming with Grandma Lewis, Aunt Tammy, Aunt Elisa, and Aunt Charlotte. As well as cousins Stetson, Rowdy and Oakley. It was a fun time. Tanner went down the water slide about 20 times with grandma. He loved it. Thanks grandma for going again and again and again with him.Grandma and grandpa got Devin cowboy boots for his birthday. He has been asking for some for quite some time, so he was preaty excited about the boots. This is my attempt at a horse cake. Joel is a great drawer and Devin asked him to decorate his cake, but Joel got stuck at work and had no time to do any decorating. By the time I learned that Joel would not be able to do the cake it was late so I did the best I could in the short time I had. I am definately not the artist that Joel is but Devin could tell it was supposed to be a horse so he was happy.
After our T-ball game we took the kids to the drive in. We watched Wall-e and Prince Caspian. It was a lot of fun. Devin was the only one that made it to the end. The others fell asleep after the first show. I hope Devin had a great day. We sure love him.

We recently took Ellie in for her 4 month checkup. She is growing like a weed! She is a whoppin 14.8 pounds and 26 inches tall. This places her in the 98 percentile for height. This also places her in the high maintenance bracket.
James is this good enough for you?

Happy Birthday Devin!

Today is my Devins 7th birthday, so I want to share some facts about Devin and reasons why he is so special.

  1. Devin is my first born. He is a great big brother, always taking care of Tanner and Ellie.
  2. Devin loves horses and wants to be a cowboy like his grandpa. He is saving all his money to buy a horse when he turns 12. (Why 12? no idea.)
  3. Devin has been 3 almost 8, 4 almost 8, 5 almost 8, 6 almost 8, and now is 7 almost 8. Because he can't wait to be in cub scouts.
  4. Devin loves people, where ever we go he finds other kids to play with. He is the first one to welcome a new neighbor or wave at a stranger. (We'll have to watch that one.)
  5. Devin is very sensitive, he is my big tough guy who will still come and sit on my lap, sleeps with his special blanket, and is very concerned if ever I am not felling good. He also prefers to sleep with Tanner because he doesn't like to be alone.
  6. He learns words to songs very easily, he only has to hear something a couple of times to have it memorized. He recognizes music pieces as well, he rememberes what movies the music belongs to.
  7. Devin will start 1st grade this fall and can hardly wait.
  8. He loves to play ball (any kind). He is in t-ball now,but can't wait to be in coach pitch next year. He also enjoys soccer and would love for mom to let him play football. He is fearless in the water and put himself in level 3 swimming lessons last year so he could jump of the high dive.
  9. Devins favorite color: red. food: hamburgers and mac'n'cheese. game: chess with dad (dad makes him follow the rules) and with Hayden (he makes up the rules with Hayden). thing to do: watch movies, doesn't have a favorite likes them all. church song: When Jesus Christ was Baptized other song: You Had a Bad Day (dad taught him that one) and Need More Hours (from Meet the Robinsons).

4th of July

The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays. I enjoy celebrating our countries independence. It helps me remember the lives that have been lost and those who are willing to defend our great country today. I am thankful to them and on this day I get a chance to salute the flag and honor those great men and women.

We went to my parents to celebrate this weekend. My home town has a great parade and many of my brothers and sisters were able to come home as well. We had a great time being together. This is us waiting for the parade. We were a preaty big group.
After the parade we had a barbeque and we went to neighbors for fireworks. It turned out to be a great day. We enjoyed most being with our family. On Sat. the kids pulled out the swimming pools and had a blast playing with cousins.

The water was so cold and the sky was overcast, I did not think that the kids would last very long. That was bad on my part, I didn't put sunsceen on my boys. We are paying for it today. Devin and Hayden were burnt but not to terrible, but my Tanner has blisters on his shoulders. It makes me feel like a terrible mom for not taking better care of my kids. Anybody know what to do for sun burn blisters?

Front Door

When we bought this house it was with the understanding that the painters would be back to paint our outside doors to match the house. Everytime I talked to the builder he said the painter was busy and would come in a couple of weeks. I was begining to wonder if we ever were going to get our doors painted. Last week bright and early the painters appeared, and we finally got our doors painted. I was quite pleased with how they turned out. Here is our front door. Before and after.

Tanner's Bubble Bath

The master bath in our house has a jetted tub and the boys love to take their baths in there with the jets on. The other day I let Tanner take a bath in there with bubbles. When the water got higher than the jets I turned them on and left him in there to enjoy his bubble bath. After a little while I sent Devin in to check on him and this was what he found.Tanner was having a great time, he was a little concerned because the bubbles were still growing. I did not realize that I had put some much bubble stuff in the tub. The other boys wanted to get in as well. I did have to pull Tanner out and wash all the bubbles off him in the shower, but he had a great time in the bath.

Ellie's 3 month picture

We recently had Ellie's 3 month pitures taken. Good thing Joel went with me because I think my kids are the cutest and tend to buy all the pictures taken. (How can I resist?) Joel is more level headed and we only by the package deal, the one we went in to get. So here is our beautiful 3 month Ellie.

I aways pull out the pictures of the other kids when they are that age to see if they look alike or what is different between them. So for fun here is the boys 3 month pictures.Devin
